I am very humbled and flattered with being offered the position. I have tried a few other guilds and even created one myself ("IsMyCharName" did it as an corny joke, get it? It would show up under your name ... yeah) but after bumping into SquishyHeal in the Rift about two weeks ago, and chatting with her a bit, I joined. Since then I knew I had found my guild. You all are so chatty, funny, willing to help, and just looking to have fun with the game. Not just going in and hacking and slashing, though that is fun, but actually supporting other players and finding new ways to enjoy the game every day. Scavenger hunts, brilliant! I know some of you will be starting classes soon, college and otherwise, and may not be able to be on for as many hours as you are now but i will keep the guild going and keep up with daily activities, like pvp escorts with my ninja assassin, or raids with my (soon to be elite) warrior or (next to work on) monk. As some of you may know I am retired, sleep very little, have few daily requirements (eating, showering, scooping litter boxes) though when I am going to be unavailable for game play I will let others know, hopefully in advance and not when they need me. Though I put it out there now, when Dr. Who, Walking Dead, and a small handful of other shows are on I will be unavailable as well. Also whenever the Revolution are playing ... they are a soccer team, you know, sports, they kick around a little white ball, they are my local/regional team and go to most home games.

I have recruited a few new members in my travels with my elite ranger assassin while farming, finding new players who know how to play but just need someone to help point the way when they get lost, or an extra set of blades. Those who are grateful and those who will actually fight beside me, not just let me finish their quest for them, that is who I look for. When I first started I had two other higher level toons help me out and now I repay that in kind and find it rather rewarding. So, please, take this example of generosity and genuine desire to see others enjoy the game (and not rage quit like I almost did a few times) and go forth and do the same. You will be surprised how many are grateful and willing to listen and learn. Sure, there will be a few who do not want help or will just sit back and wait for you to do all the work, when that happens call them out on it and ask them to do their share. Be patient, you know, if they die and need to run back from the graveyard, and continue on helping. If they don't play along side, and just stand behind you, simply quit the team and walk away. Though that may seem a bit extreme, leaving them in the thick of it, but, you know, it's not your fault they are lazy noobs.

Huge essay there, but I do agree. I have found it very rewarding and productive to do what you have done, being an ex-WoWer it was most anoying getting people come to you calling you a noob and kicking you for silly things, if someone took the time to just say *did you know* or *try it like this* made a huge difference. Have even done it the other way round.

For example in a heroic underbog we took a lock, mage, me on healer, hubby on tank and another random. But the mage was constantly complaining about the lock's damage being shit, which to be fair it was. My hubby who's alt was a lock spoke to the lock, and within the next battles became the highest dpser, and not only that was added to our friends list and taken with us when we went places. (mage got kicked for causing wipes).

Thanks for that, yes I did. I am creating another that will lay dormant for a bit. Calling it, Browncoats, if you notice my new toon's name, CaptReynolds, it is a Firefly (tv show) reference. I need to secure the name at least and bond it to one of the toons on my alt account I use for storage of bulk items. Had I known that everyone call their characters "toon" I would have made it "IsMyToonsName" but oh well, it's been disbanded and is no more. Also thinking about making others based off other shows and such, like a Flintstone, VentureBrothers, Metalocalypse/Dethklok, excreta. Just because I get bored and need something to do to amuse myself and the masses.
